ML3 Scientific
SpectrumXTM ultrathin X-ray windows
Maximum transmission across the x-ray spectrum
Using modern materials science, nanotechnology and proprietary MEMS processing, ML3 has developed a new light element x-ray window with an unequaled x-ray transmission and a wide field of view (approaching that of beryllium foil). These windows have 85% open area for soft x-rays, and the support grid itself is >99% transmissive for x-rays harder than Cu K.
Window construction
Our proprietary nano-reinforced polymer window film is supported by an integral nano-reinforced hexagonal polymer grid. The stoichiometric composition of the film and grid is C25H14N2O4.
Mounting
SpectrumXTM windows are bonded to an endcap or other mount supplied by the customer or ML3. The mount can be any vacuum compatible material such as stainless steel, aluminum, or ceramic.
Corrosion resistance

The SpectrumXTM window is protected against corrosion and humidity by ML3 Scientific's proprietary ExoshieldTM protective coating. The window can be washed with solvents or water without harming the window.
