These are regulated switching power
converters (switchmode), designed to allow the use of 24 volt DC equipment in 24VAC security,
CCTV camera systems and energy management applications. These 60 Watt peak converters have been
designed to be very rugged electrically and have precise voltage regulation.
These are
also known as 24 volt rectifiers, and voltage regulators. They can be used whenever 24VAC power
is available and 24VDC power is needed, up to 60 watts.
Custom output voltages are

Q: I don't have 60
watts available on my 24VAC line, is it OK to operate the PST-AC2424-2.5A at lower
powers?
A: Yes, you can use this converter at lower powers. The power supply module will
only draw the power it needs to supply your load. Of course there must be enough power (watts)
available on the AC line to power your load.
Q: How can you regulate the voltage so
accurately with such a wide range of input voltages?
A: The PST-AC2424-2.5A is not just a
rectifier, it is a fully configured switchmode power supply with a wide range input centered on
24VAC. With the current and voltage feedback loops in the switchmode circuit the output voltage
can be locked solid. This makes the output voltage independent of input voltage or output
current.
Q: Does the rectifier add noise to the AC line?
A: No, the sine wave of the
AC line is not distored by the PST-AC2424-2.5A. Thus you don't have to worry about noise being
transmitted to other devices connected to the 24VAC line. However, most other rectifiers do
distort the AC power considerably, especially half-wave rectifiers.
