This is a galvanically isolated regulated switching power converter (switchmode), designed to allow the use of 12 volt equipment in 24 volt vehicles. In this case "galvanically isolated" means that both the positive and negative inputs are not electrically connected to the output leads because there is a high frequency transformer that seperates the two circuits. These are attractive, reliable, robust DC/DC converters good for fork lifts, off-road, construction and recreational equipment. It is convection cooled, and has no fan to suck in dirt or water spray. To determine the amperage you need just add up the watts of all the equipment that will be powered by this DC to DC converter and divide by 13.8 volts. These are also known as 24 volt voltage reducers, and voltage regulators.
Specifications and comparisons
This Isolated Ground series provide negative/positive ground reference capablity, allowing connection of negative ground equipment to positive or floating ground battery systems or vice versa. It also offers protection level for itself and to the connected loads. It features protection against transient voltagespikes typically encountered on equipment such as electric fork lifts. Being switchmode, they have high efficiency (>86%), produces little heat and is small in size. Features:
