We are currently using the PST-Backup-2.4-12A battery backup 2.4AH with 12 Amps pass
through in all of our fire apparatus rescue units and ambulances. The
PST-Backup sits between the vehicle power and the CradlePoint network access
point and the vehicle laptop computer. This maintains constant power to the
devices in the event there any voltage drops i.e. during engine start-up.
Having the battery backup in place ensures the computer and network are in a
ready-to-respond mode avoiding lengthy re-boots. The devices have been
installed for over a year with no issues or failures. We are very pleased with
the PST-Backup and will continue to utilize them as we receive new units.
