Batteries, Chargers, and Power Supplies, Custom and off-the-shelf.PowerStream has the largest selection of in-stock lithium polymer cells for product development in the world. Since the Chinese battery factories do not hold stock, it is difficult for designers to get the batteries they need in a timely manner. PowerStream can supply off-the-shelf batteries for engineering work and small production runs, as well as volume production cells with a short (6 week) lead time. These are not the high-discharge-rate cells used for RC hobbies, but are those typically used in cell phones, Bluetooth, and similar applications. Lithium ion cells are used in a wide variety of portable equipment and instruments. Lithium polymer cells have a better form factor than cylindrical cells for a variety of applications, such as cell phones, PDAs, cameras. These cells are high-quality Chinese batteries, made in an ISO certified environment. PowerStream has qualified our factories as being some of the premier factories for lithium polymer cells.
Features: 1. High operating voltage (3.7V average, 4.2 volts peak) 2. Energy density is high, volumetric energy density of 350Wh/L and gravimetric energy density of 135Wh/kg. 3. No memory effect 4. Self-discharge is less than 2% per month 5. Charge/discharge cycle characteristics are excellent 6. Safety characteristics are excellent 7. The battery has a wide discharging temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C
Note: We don’t inflate our specifications as many companies do. The capacity in amp-hours is guaranteed, and will be exceeded most of the time.
Note on safety boards: The PCB or “protection circuit board” is optional, and only included when requested. Some of our in-stock cells have the PCB installed. The PCB prevents the cell from being over-discharged, short circuited, or exposed to a charging voltage that is dangerous. The cells that have “add to cart” are in stock for sample quantities. We try to keep 5 to 500 pieces in stock of these cells. Larger quantity and unstocked items need to be ordered from the factory in China and can take 3-6 weeks to arrive. Custom Sizes
About 20% of our sales come from custom cells that are designed for a specific customer. Call one of our sales engineers if you need something special. There is a tooling charge and minimum order quantity for production runs of customized cells.
Assured source of supply
There are no standard sizes for lithium polymer cells. Cell phones and other high volume consumer products typically define what factories are making. In the past when Motorola stopped buying a cell, that cell would be difficult or impossible to source. This kind of market is difficult for manufacturers with smaller volume products to work in. PowerStream has solved this problem by purchasing our own molds and hiring an engineer to work in the factory. This means that for our customers we can assure that the cells that we stock will be available for many years to come.

Quantity pricing is based on one order, one shipment. Allow time for ocean freight from China for large quantities of lithium containing cells. Caution: (1) Do not short-circuit and do not overcharge lithium ion polymer cells. (2) Do not over-discharge , dent, crush, or burn the lithium polymer cells. (3) The lithium polymer battery should be charged in a safe manner, and never overcharged or overdischarged. (4) Do not try to solder directly to lithium polymer batteries . (5) Do not disassemble lithium polymer batteries. (6) Do not use lithium polymer batteries outside the specified temperature range .
